An evening at the opera, theatre or ballet required not only a special dress, but a special bottle of Crown Lavender Salts to place in an evening purse. The “Opera” bottle, a small 2.5” / 6.3 cm bottle with a silver screw cap, was the luxurious and elegant solution from The Crown Perfumery Company.
As shown in the photo below, the bottles came in a wide range of designs. The first bottle is hallmarked Charles May, Birmingham, 1907. The second bottle is hallmarked Holland, Aldwinkle and Slater, London, 1910. The third bottle is most likely American, for it is marked STERLING.
Bottles range in height from 2.25″ / 5.7 cm to 2.5″ / 6.3 cm
